SIXTEEN-FOOT FALL TO GROUND.

Walter Dear, a soldier settler nt Aliiaruhe, was staying at the Marquis Hotel last night. In hie steen, at 3 o’clock this morning, lie opened his bedroom window, 16 feet from the ground, nnd stepped out. When picked up it was found that his face was cut and bruised, and that both wrists were broken. Ho was attended by Dr. Edie and two medical students belonging to the Otago football team, and later admitted to the Masterton Hospital.
