FIRES
THREE ALARMS TN ONE NIGHT AT. NELSON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, September 14. A fire was discovered in the -wall of the Cathedral at 10 o’clock last night. The building is undergoing repair. At midnight a detached shed near Grant’s Buildings was found io bo on fire. While this was bring put out, another fire was discovered in tho rear of the premises of tho Grand Cafe, just opposite. SMALL OUTBREAK AT PETONE. At about 4.25 p.m. yesterday a small outbreak of firo occurred at Cook’s timber yards, Petone. A spark from the chimney had apparently ignited the wooden framework, of the shaving drum above the stokehold, and subsequently the shavings underneath caught fire. Tho brigade was promptly on tho scene, and had tho firo under before any appreciable damage had 'been done.
