FIRE ON CECILIA SUDDEN
PERUVIAN CONSUL HOLDS INQUIRY. By Telegraph —Pres. Association. Auckland, September 13. An inquiry into the fire on the Cecilia Sudden, off the Great. Barrier, was held by the Peruvian Consul to-day. Hie evidence showed that the fire was accidental and was caused by spontaneous combustion of the coal; that the captain and crew, knowing the risk of fire in coal cargoes, took all possible precautions and did all that was possible to eave the ship when the fire was discovered. A report to this effect will be sent by the Consul to the Peruvian Government.
