LYALL BAY PARK
TO BE USED AS AEROPLANE LANDING GROUND. The Mayor (Mr. IL A. Wright, M.P.) announced yesterday that permission had been granted the Canterbury and South Canterbury Aviation Companies to use ilie Lyall Bay Park as a landing ground. Tho Park referred to is a ten-acre le vo‘ block, part of a 100-ncro reserve at Lyall Bay The permission is subject to tno condition that no landings are to be made when the grounds are being used for football matches or other sports. Mr Wright said that so far no permission has been given to cither company to erect hangars. That was a matter which would have to be gone into vdry carefully by the council.
