MURDERS IN BERLIN
HORRIBLE CHARGE AGAINST A PEDLAR. (Rec. September 13, 11.30 p.m.) Berlin, September 12. Charged with murdering from twelve to fifteen women, and selling their flesh in the streets, a pedlar named Grossnqinn has confessed to several murders. — United Service. [A series oft "Jack tho Ripper” crimes was reported from Berlin last month. The bodies of two women were' found in the River Spree, making a total of five discovered in a few days. A>butchcr named Carl Grossmann was arrested in the act of battering an aged Woman to death while ehe'was lying in bed, bound and gagged. The police later found evidence connecting Grossmann ‘ with other atrocities. Among the police discoveries was a trunk which had been used to carry, away the bodies of the victims.]
