Lord Beaverbrook, writing to tho "Daily Express" from Berlin, states that, on the surface, there is prosperity everywhere in Germany. The era of inflation which is behind the apparent wealth and luxury' will inevitably end ig a crash. Germany is going through a post’’poiied but prolonged boom, which makes our post-war boom of 1919 a tiny thing. There is nothing in the industrial position in Germany, beaten and impoverished by the great war, to justify the rate at which she is living. As inflation increases, tho value of tho mark declines, and spending increases. The recklessness of the whois proceedings is beyond belief.
