The borough engineer (Mr. E. A. Gumbley) reported at the Council meeting last evening that during the month of July Lower Hutt had purchased from Petone 2,353,000 cubic feet of gas, of which amount 1 923,000 cubic feet had been retailed for domestic purposes, 109.000 cubic feet for power, and 89,700' cubic feet for street HabHng.
