MR. MASSEY AT VANCOUVER

ADDRESS ON EMPIRE PROBLEMS / By Telegraph— Press Association— Copyright (Kec. September 11, 5.5 p.m.) Vancouver, September 10. Under the auspices of the Canadian Club, Mr. Massey addressed an audience of four hundred of the leading citizens of Vancouver at luncheon to-day, and had a most enthusiastic reception. A numberof New Zealanders were present, including Sir John Findlay. Mr. Massey’s subject was, "Some As< pects of Empire Problems." Mr. Massey was in great form and spoke for an hour, when the audience asked him to continue. This was his first address on the subject since the conference. Mr. Massey described tho latter as a great success, having laid the foundations for the superstructure of a British Empire which' would be of great benefit not only to the present but future generations. Ho quoted Mr. Lloyd.pGeorge’s conference summing-up speech,'in which the latter made it plain that the conference was now an Empire Cabinet, vested with the powers of a Cabinet. He traversed most of the principal points of the conference and was Continually applauded. At tho condition of the speech Mr. Massey was cheerfed. The chairman said it was the first opportunity the province had had of hear. Ing at first hand anything about the conference, and it had been a great privilege ,to have the honour of hearing such a statemanlike account <W what happened on vital points. He thanked Mr. Massey on behalf of the town for hie great address. Mr. Massey will address the Victoria Canadian Club to-morrow forenoon during the stay of the Niagara.—Special to Press Assn.
