THE DOMINION ASSOCIATION DECISIONS AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE By Telegraph.—Prere Aisoolatlon, Greymouth, July 28. Tho annual conference of the Dominion Boxing Association was opened to-day, and dealt with numerous remits. It was resolved by 20 votes to 4 (the minority being Canterbury delegates) that the constitution of the council be altered to permit of each centre having direct representation thereon. It was recommended that the championships for 1922 bo allotted to Auckland; also that championships be held alternately in the North and • South Islands, and Ohat the 1923 championships be allotted to Dunedin. The conference resolved that secondary schools’ boxing championships for the .Do. minion be instituted. Another decision was that all centres shall register their colours. Ashburton was constituted a centre. Several remits were referred to special committees. A remit to bar military defaulters from competing or joining the association was defeated. It was decided on t division that the headquarters of the association remain at Christchurch. A remit was received from the Christchurch Sports Club regarding tho definition of "local association.’’—lt was decided: "That a local association is a body that is granted legal recognition.” The Christchurch delegates referred to the St. Patrick’s Sports Association, and objected to there being more than one promoting body in each town. —It was resolved:—"That tho conference is of opinion, that there should be only one promoting body in each town, and that the Minister of Internal Affaire bo asked to gazette a regulation to that effect under the Police Offences Act.” Tho secretary (Mr. AV. G. Atack) announced his resignation. Tho conference will be resumed on Saturday. NEW ZEALANDCRAMPIONSHIPS THE OPEN BOUTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, July 28. Charles (Wellington), after an even, willing bout. Light-weights—H. May (Auckland), 9st. 131 b., knocked out L. Cox (Invercargill), 9st. 131 b., in the second round; Bobinson (Wellington) won by default from Wilcox (Granity); Harris (Dunedin), 9st. 741 b., beat Hooper (Ashburton), fist. 41b.; P. M'Farlane (Greymouth), fist. 91b., beat B. O’Keefe (Palmerston “North), fist. 111 b., after a fast, even encounter; Griffiths (Westport), 10st., beat Bobinson (Wellington), fist. Welter-weights —L. O’Neill (Greymouth) lOst. 81b., beat M. Neylon (Invercargill), after an interesting, vlean fight, in which both boxed most willingly; Baker (Auckland), lOst 41b., beat J. Devescovie (Dunollie), lOst. 41b., boxing tho best of the last rounds. Heavy-weights—B. M'Cleary (Ashburton), list. 101 b., beat C. M'Gse (Nelson), 13st., science and speed prevailing over height and weight; Parker (Timaru) de faulted to Galt (Invercargill). To-morrow night the remaining bouts and semifinals will take place.
