TWENTY-SIXTH ANNUAL MEETING. Mr T. S. Ronnldson presided over the 26th' annual mebtlnK ot the. Thorndon Bowling Club, held last evening. In their report covering the year ending May 31, the directors commented on the highly satisfactory state of affaus disclosed by the statement ofaccounts. There would bo ample liabilities in connection with the sale of the green and leave a balance to the oJedit o S f the club for the ensuing year During the year tho green came fully up to P expectations, and members and visitors expressed themselves as highly pleased with the way it plajed. Visitors taking part in the tournament .wore particularly Ro“ their praises of the green. The green was closed on April 30. were taken, and the top-dressing and sowing were completed the following week, thanks to tho keenness and energy disnlaved bv tho caretaker, Mr. Peters, who. all through the Be(Wo.n--a great pride and interest in the uit keep of Ihe club's property. ArF B,n £"’ ments were made n Y ith j the Club whereby the Thorndon dub s care taker should assist them with the r top dressing nnd their caretaker should assist the Thorndon Club In the sam« connection. This had proved eminently satisfactory, as it obviated the employ mont of casual labour, at tho same time giving bSh clubs the advantage of expert workers. Members could ward with every confidence to having a. really good green for next seasons play, ns the B present indications showed that the grara seed had taken well, with the result that the green had never looked bettor at this time of tho year. Officers for the ensuing year were elected an follow:—President. Mr. G. Johnson; vice-president. Mr. D Hoss; lion, eecret nrv Mr V J- Brogan; hon. treasurer, Mr C. E. Clilttoy; hon. auditor. Mr.. II J King; directors. Messrs. W. Wiggins, inn F. J White, W. Spenoer. J. R. Balt, and" L. Hymns. The appointment of a delegate 'to the. Wellington Bowling Centre was left in the hands of tho directors.
