FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY, Present indications ere for -trong easterly to northerly winds northwards of New Plymouth and Napier, and variable and strong winds, With south-easter-lies ruling elsewhere. Cloudy and unsettled conditions with rain are probable generally, and heavy rain in the northernmost districts. Barometer unsteady with a falling tendency. Low atmospheric pressure has ruled, and moderate to strong north-east to southeast winds have prevailed; squally at times in the far north.
