4 AMERICAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY BARNES. (Rec. July 24, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, July 22. Barnes won the open championship with a total of 289. He did the third round in 73 and the fourth round in 72. Tho runners up were M'Leod and Hagen, with 298. Duncan’s score was 305, and Kirkwood’s 318.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
