WAGES TO BE REDUCED. (Rec. July 23, 5.5 p.m.) Cape Town, July 23. The Johannesburg Chamber of Mines has notified tho South African industrial Federation of its intention to reduce wages in tho mines Is. 6d. per shift from August 1. Tho chamber is also willing to' agree to a eliding scale for the future based on the cost at living. Reuter.
