INVASION OF MONGOLIA THREATENED. (Reo. July 24, 5.5 p.m.) Shanghai, July 23. The Far Eastern Republic has sent a Noto to the Chinese Government, stating that unless China takes steps to prevent Ungern and Sternberg’s forces and simi'lar"bands using Chinese territory as a base of operations against Chita, the Government of the latter will invade Mongolia and exterminate the bands itself. In viow of the Chino-Jnpan military pact, such an invasion would constitute an overt act against Japan.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
