MAGISTRATE’S COURT
A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held on Saturday morning, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., being on the 'bench. Cecelia Hunter, who had a lengthy record of previous convictions, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on being convicted of being mi idle and disorderly person in that she possessed insufficient lawful means of support. The defendant had only recently been discharged from gaol, and was staying with relatives in the city. H p ’’ conduct, however, became so bad on Friday that the police had to be called in. Alfred Antonivck was charged with the theft of two cameras, the property of some person unknown. On the application of Detective-Sergeant Andrews the accused was remanded for a week, and bail was allowed in one surety of «£5O, or two of £25 each.
