Ths quarterly meeting of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit was hold on Monday evening last, when the Bev. B. Drake occupied, the chair. A hearty welcome was extended to the Rev. J. G. Chapman, who has undertaken pastoral oversight of Donald M'Lean Street and Island Bar churches. After close scrutiny of the roll of membership, returns showed 294 full members, with seven on trial; with 110 junior members; 29 names had been removed during the quarter. Income showed: General account. J 2160 l‘2s. 2d.; foreign missions, .816 IGs. Id.; property account, -£W Bs. 2d.; sundries, £2 6s. 3d.: total, 41233 2s. gd Sunday school returns were considered highly satisfactory. Reports .were received from the Welfare of the Church Committee and from the Sunday school and young people's departments, and were heartily endorsed. Arrangements were made for home mission collections during tho quarter. Mr. A. 11. G. Brooks was continued on trial, and Mr. >l. Downer was asked to prepare for work on the local preachers’ plan. Letters of condolence were directed to be sent to Mr. Charlton, to the Rev. A.. 11. ficrlvin. and to Mrs.. .1. G. Smalley, and a letter of sympathy t» Mr. R. Herron.
