Tho weather was fine but dull for tho continuation of tho match between the Australian team and tho West of Scotland. Tho wicket was good, and tho attendance over 5900. John Gunn and Speed took up the attack against tho not-out men, Ryder (121) and Oldfield (26). The latter added a single to his score, and then sent ono back to Gunn in the first over. Eight for 488. Gregory partnered Ryder, and the latter added eight to his over-night total, and then Speed bowled him in his second over. Nino for 492. Ryder had batted for 136 minutes, and his innings was without a chance. He played stylish cricket, and hit fourteen fours. Mailey joined Gregory, and the fast bowler became aggressive. He hit two sixes and three fours. After lunch he stepped out to ono from John Gunn, and Day removed his bails. Mailey was not out, with eight to his credit, and tho innings closed for 5'16.

George Gunn and Manners were the first batsmen fdr West of Scotland, and Mailey and Gregory were tho bowlers. The batsmen took the score to 41 before Gregory, who was not bowling his fastest. found Manners’s stumps. One for 41. At the invitation of the Peter Dawson whisky firm, the Australian cricketers, the AVest of Scolnnd cricket clubs, nnd corporation officials made a trip on Sunday down the Clyde, to Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute, landing at Rothesay. There was glorious weather, and the outing was most enjoyable. There were over a hundred guests at lunch and dinner. Replying to the toast of the “Tlgj Australians.” Mr. Sydney Smith said ho had brought Sydney weather with him, both to the cricket field nnd the pleasure trip. On Saturday night Mr. Dawson drove the Australians to Loch Lomond. To-night the team is to be banqueted by the cor-poration.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
