STARVING AUSTRALIAN SOLDIERS
MATTER FOR STATE GOVERNMENTS Melbourne, July 12, A deputation of returned soldiers asked Sir Joseph Cook for employment, eta ting that they were starving. Sir Joseph Cook replied that, whilst the Government undertook to find employment for returned soldiers, it was for a period only, and not till death. It had already spent -C100.000.000 on the soldiers. The question was one for the State Governments. —Press Assn.
