The arrival at Capo Town of tho new 20.000-ton liner, Arundel Castle, caused enormous interest, this being the largest vessel plying south of the Equator. The youngest man to receive the rank of field marshal was the Duke of Connaught, who received his honour when just over fifty-two years of age.
