CUSTOMS “STOPS”
© WORK TO BE CENTRED IN P STORE Hr T Munt reported yesterday to the council ‘of the Chamber of Commerce that the Harbour Board had practically adopted all the chamber’s suggestions respecting tho Customs exaim nation sheds, or “stops.” Hitherto the Customs authorities had operated a l over the wharves, but from August I this work was to bo centred in P shed, and he was sure that it was going; to eave importers a lot of time and the board a lot of worry. The Customs clerks would also be housed for the future in I stole. On tho motion of the chairman (Mi. M 4 Carr) it was decided to forward a letter’ to the board, thanking them for the manner in which they had met the chamber in making the alterations.
