Several English counties are almost without bees. The swarms were seldom busier earlv in the year. Then of a sudden, without any appearance of disease. thov died ii*joni inent, till not a.n inhabited hive was left. Isle of Wight disease is still raging, but the sudden and complete absence of bees, for example in some parts of Hertfordshire, is not. due to this or any other apparent malady.
