Tho Earl of Coventry, tho grand old man of tho sporting world, on May 9 celebrated his 83rd birthday at Croome Court, his seat, near Worcester (England). He was twice Mntser of the Royal Buckhounds, and has been a keen rider to hounds. He has attended more than 60 Ascot meetings, and in his white eilk hat has always been a welcome personage in racing circles.
