THE STELLA MISHAP
NAUTICAL COURT ANNOUNCES FINDING. / By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Juno 8. The finding of the Nautical Court which inquired into the mishap of the Stella, near Moeraki, was that there was laxity on the part of the master, Captain Radford, in not giving definite instructions Io be notified when Hie Moeraki lighthouse was abeam, and that the chief officer, I.avarlon, failed in his duty by not notifying the muster when the Moeraki lighthouse was abeam, or in default, in not altering the course for Taiaroa Head. Tho chairman said the circumstances did not call for the cancellation of certificates, but the officers should pay the costs, which he fixed as follow —Master of the vessel, .62 25.; chief officer, 4116 9s.
