THE GROWTH OF POPULATION

A SURVEY OF THE DOMINION

The Government Statistician has prejiared a preliminary return showing the population of certain grouped counties, including tho interior boroughs and town districts. The return covers the whole Dominion, and illustrates the movement of population and the percentage of increase or decrease in each district. The

•The groups that show decreases are East Coast in the North Island, and West Coast, Central Otago, and Chatham Islaifd in the South Island.
