CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION
RESERVED JUDGMENT DELIVERED. Judgment was filed in tho Court of Arbitration yesterday on the claim for compensation preferred by Walter James Wilson, driver, of Wellington, against Sophia Mary Wilson, widow, of Wellington, in respect of *.ho accidental death of Joseph Wilson, driver, father of plaintiff. Tho case presented some unusual features. Deceased was fatally injured while in charge of a horse and dray nt the city corporation quarries. Defendant was the widow of James Wilson, a contractor, who was himself killed a few weeks after the death of his brother, Joseph 'Wilson. The plaintiff contended that although engaged on city corporation work, the deceased Joseph Wilson was at the time of the accident in the employ of his brother, James Wilson, a contractor to the corporation. Plaintiff claimed that his sister, Marion Wilson, was totally dependent. Tho defence denied dependency, and alleged Hint there was no cause of action, as deceased, Joseph Wilson, wfls at the time of Hie '•‘“"accident in the employ of the City Council. Tho Court awarded plaintiff .£175 compensation, together with 4225 funeral expenses. No order was made as to costs.
