Record entries have been received for the winter meeting of the Egmont Racing Club, and the list of the jumping races includes all tho leading ’chasers in the Dominion, with the exception of Locheltaj who is amiss. It looks as if the progressive spirit displayed by the Hawera folks will put the Egmont Club right in the front rank. H. Gray arrived in the city yesterday and’will join the Marama, which is to sail fox- San Francisco to-day. He will travel across the States and leave from New York for Liverpool- He will witness some of the racing in England, and will return to the Dominion in time for the New Zealand Cup meeting in NoJ. W. Lowe will leave by the Paloqna on Friday for Melbourne. He is taking his three-year-old Insurrection with him, and will race him on the other side tor a couple of months. The jockey W. Kitchener is accompanying him.
