MADAME STRATHEARN
CONCERT AT TRENTHAM. Madame Strathearn, tho well-known Scottish singer, who recently concluded a tour of the Dominion, and who is remembered by most "Diggers” for the entertainments she provided in Franco during tho war, visited Trentham last night and gave a concert in the Y.M.C.A. Institute, which was Crowded wit;h ‘"blue boys” from the Military Hospital. Tho concert had been arranged by Major Burton, of the Salvation Army, and Madame Strathearn motored to Trenfham in Mr.. H. D. Bennett’s car, which had been kindly lent for tho occasion. The entertainVent was greatly appreciated by the soldiers. During the evening Miss Thurston, matron of the hospital, presented Madame Strathearn with a beautifully worked leather purse, made by one of tho patients nt the hospital. Mr. A. B. Sievwright, vice-president of the Wellington R.S.A., handed Madame Strathearn the' silver badge of the R.S.A., she having been made ft life member of the Wellington Association.
