Tho polling hours will be between '9 a.iu. and 7 p.m. As there is usually a rush in the luncheon hour and after 5 p.m., as- many as can arrange to vote at any other time of the day are urged to do so. The ladies particularly are asked by the chief returning officer _ to record their votes other than during rush hours, and so avoid tho inconvenience of having to push in with the crowd. There will be no fewer than 18 booths at the Town Hall, and those who reside or work near smaller polling places are advised to take no .chances at the last moment, but to vote at tho Town Hall, where there will bo a staff largo enough to attend to everyone. In addition to the election of four members to represent the city on the Harbour Board, two other elections will take place to-day—one to return two candidates for the combined district of Petone and Lower Hutt boroughs, Hutt and Makara counties, and the Johnsonville and Upper Hutt Town Boards, and the other to represent the payors of ■ harbour dues other than on ships.
