ATTACK ON GEORGIA

FALL OF TIFLIS DENIED

(Rec. March 1, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, February 28.

The Georgian Government has telegraphed a denial of the reported fall of Tiflis.—Reuter.

CONFLICTING REPORTS. (Rec. March 1, 7.30 p.m.) London, February 28.

Reports as to the position at Tiflis are conflicting. Georgian Government tele* grams state that the city has not fallen.

The “Times” Constantinople correspondent states that anarchy and pillage aro rampant in Tiflis, due to 80l shevik agents demoralising the Georgian army, which later melted away, allowing the Bolshevik army to capture the town without resistance. Another Bolshevik army is marching upon Batouin on which aJTutkish army is also marching. The Moslem population will certainly support the latter. —“The Times.”
