COAL SHORTAGE
CANTERBURY FARMERS ANXIOUS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, February 19. The shortage of good' coal is affecting the thrashing industry, and farmers are becoming anxious about the position. The Trewallard, with 7000 tons of Australian coal, has been in Lyttelton Harbour for three weeks, and some consignees have not yet received any coal. The delay is said to be due to the truck shortage, but it is alleged that it is really due to the failure of the Railway Department to empty full trucks which' are standing eu many sidings.
