ALLEGED "JOY RIDER”
CHASE ENDS IN AN ARREST.
Frederick Ernest Quayle, a young man formerly employed as a conductor on the city tramways, was taken into custody by the police on Saturday evening on a charge of using, without authority, a motor-car owned by Mr. Eric J.enklMr. Jenkins left his car outside the Balmoral Hotel about eight o clock in the evening, and on returning a few minutes afterwards found that it hnd disappeared. About an hour later he saw the missing car being driven in Willis Street by a strange young man, who on being accosted, jumped out, and took to his heels. Mr. Jenkins gave chase, and overhauled Quayle, whom he handed over to a constable. Quayle will appear before the Magistrate this morning.
