HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER IN OTAGO
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, February 17.
A deputation representing bodies interested waited on the Hon. J. G. Coates this morning, urging the adoption of the ITaweavVanaka hydro-electric scheme. The Minister, in reply, said ho had this and other Otago schemes under consideration. He thought at present that the development of the Dunedin City Council’s and the railway works to the maximum, with the addition of a station in Central Otago, would be the cheapest quickest, and best method of generating power for the Otago province. He would go into the matter and give full details at an early date.
