BOYS’ INSTITUTE
The monthly meeting of the Boys’ Institute and S. A. Rhodes Home for Boys-avas held on Wednesday evening. Mr. G. A. Troup' was in the chair. The director’s report showed a steady growth in membership. and the need for more accommodation was very pressing. The membership had more than doubled, and the homo for boys of fallen soldiers and others was full, and every day some needy boy was refused admittance owing to the want of room. The committee considered the Question of the erection cf another building on the adjoining section, and a plan , of campaign for funds was decided upon. ’ A deputation from the executive of "the New Zealand Rugby League game requested the committee to encourage the playing of the League game amouji the boys, and after the president had assumed the deputation that the institute would not stand in the way, if the boys decided to play either Rugby or the lieague game, it was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of tho director.
