“ GERMANY MUST REFUSE TO SIGN”

After conferring with the Baden Cabinet at Karlsruhe, Dr. von Simons ad. dressed the. Diet, and declared that nv German statesman dare call on. the people to perform a forty-one years’ corvee under the Entente conditions. Germany must therefore refuse to sign such an undertaking. Two important factors in the impending clearing-up of the situation would 'be whether Germany shall retain Upper Silesia, and what would bo her relations with the United States. — Reuter. MANDATES COMMISSION '« INCLUSION OF WOMEN URGED. London, February 16. A number of representative feminists, in a letter to the Press, urge that at least one woman should be included on the Mandates Commission to Ire appointed by the meeting of the Council of the League of Nations on February 21, in view of questions affecting women and children.—Reuter.
