BOY DROWNED
SLIPS FROM THE ROCKS. . By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, January 10. Victor Cartier, aged 12, an inmate of the Leslie Orphanage, slipped from the rocks into the sea while on his way to a bathing place near Mahurangi Heads. The matron, Miss Wright, made a plucky but ineffectual attempt at rescue, but lest her hold on the lad, who sank. The body was recovered yesterday.
