At the second series of wool sales, the lompetition was disappointing', the Arae•ican particularly showing a falling oil. iVools suitable for this market declined 10 to 50 per cent, on prices at the ojpnng sales, and topmaking qualities delUned 15 per cent. Faulties and inferiors rtrero almost unsaleable, and there were leavv withdrawals. Greasy touched 42d. ler lb. Aftsr the auction, however, a jood deal of wool was cleared at more satisfactory figures—Press Assn. The Department of Agriculture lias revived the following cablegram, dated November 10, from the High Conuuislioner for New Zealand, London:—"Wool iales commenced last night; largo attenduice,' but demand restricted and competition hesitating. Loss than liajf ottering iold. Practically no bidding for .coarser iroasbreds notwithstanding limit reduced. Compared with last series, merinos superior 10 per cent., medium and inferior 15 per cent, to 20 per cent, lower; crossoreds, a) por co'it. to 25 per cent, lower prices as follow:—GO-Gi's, 2s. to 2s. 10d.; >0-56*3, Is. 7Jd. to Is. 9(1.; JB's, 1?. 41d.; HVlG'fl, Is. Ud. to Is. Bd.; .SGs-iOs, lOd. to Hid.; 24,700 bales tfow Zealand wool ivailable for series."
