Arch Saluto and Sir Fanciful will both go well. . . The Styx Hack Hurdles mar roßOlvc itself into a duel between the two top weights. Tatimi goes well in soft ground, and may reverso the first day's form witfi Gamecock. Ladogeur ran uo well in the National Hurdles that ho cannot be overlooked to-day. Lochella seems to havo trained off, but Kauri King, and Fisher can both be expectod to give good displays, > Coalition is so very well now that ho is bound to come in for big support in the Lincoln Stceplcohase Crib will go the distance well in heavy going, and m> will the improving 6an Sebastian, who is very nicelv placed in tlio Handicap. Christchurohi August 13. Owing to heavy rain the third day cf the Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting has been postponed till Monday.

A Press Association message from Christchurch states:—Speaking at a trotting reunion, Sir James Carroll cxprossod a desire to see tho r.port extended in the North Island. He said ho would like to see it there as "an adjunct of 'the Sport of Kings'." and lie thought it would besomo eo if tho Bill before Parliament were put through providing the extra 20 or so permits, Ho urged, however, that the South Island should not ask for all those permits, but should .five tho north u chanco.
