The matron reported that there had ten a good deal of sickness among the thirty boys under her care. It was decided to buy linoleum for all the bedroom floors, the cost and scarcity of labour ! making it almost impossible to get anyone to do the scrubbing. Mesdanies Hielop, M'Kerrow. and Wilson wero appointed visitors for thn coming month. Members also arranged to go on different days to hell) with ibo mending and darning, the .stall being quite unable to do it all. ; The employees of C. Smith LM. held 'theirairmiai dance at St. Peters Hall, on Monday last. The gathering was a croat success. About 75 couples were present, and the hall, which was not too crowded for dancing, was beautifully decorated under the direction.- of Mr. Oox. Red, white, and blue streamers were hung from eacli corner of the. biuldiiie, and on these were hung balloons of various colours, and small kewpies. On the sides of the hall blue and white bunting and Chinese lanterns greatly added to the effect.
