ARREST OF A MILLIONAIRE
CHARGED WITH MISUSE OF MAILS. Montreal; August 12. Charles Ponssi, a millionaire of Boston, and a so-called "Financial Wizard/' was arrested to-day; on a ohnrge of using' the vails for fraudulent purposes. Ponzi is credited with mnking two millions sterling by exchange speculations, which were interwoven with the Hanover Trust Company, whoso doors are closed. All the visible of the company are alleged to have disappeared, and it. owes a.million sterling. _ It is estimated that Ponzi's . liabilities amount to seven million dollars.but he claims that his personal assets will meet these.
