The land contained in the above-mentioned ' sublease is situated at Pukeknroro, in the Parish of jMwakn, i n the Olamatea County, and is known in the distriot as the Bald hill of approximately some 750 feet in height. It is about four miles from the Kaiwaka Station on tho North Auckland Main Trunk Line. t ' ■ The deposit is in two distinct formations, a fault or dyke evidently appearing between them. One deposit may be described as a slaty formation with, •polyhedral cleavage, offering exceptional facilities for reduction into road metal, oto. Tho second deposit of the samo stone, showing in two faces on tho opposite eide of the hill, isevidently one enormous; stratum! of solid v roik to depths urn known. It is conveniently Joined so as to greatly facilitate quarrying operations. This building stone appears in , two very?pleasing colours—Light Grey and'Brown, both of which take a beautiful and lasting polish?
