Mr. 11. Ernest Leighton reports that at tho sale, held on Wednesday, en behalf of Mr. Colin Holmes, Waiwetu Rond, Lower Hutt, both properties were sold under the hammor-tho block of 2 acres 1 rood 15 perches at £290 per acre, the pmallcr block of 1 acre 1 rood 25 torches at £300 por acre. On Thursday ho (submitted In the Chamber of Commerce, Customhouse Quay, under instructions from the Publio Trustee, in tho William Scatt Milne estate, a farm of 27 acres, situate in the Taita, which was sold under the hammer to Mr. George August for £1850. Another farm of 9 acres, not reaching tho reserve, was paused in. In the Rusioll Estate, Kai Nai, Block 1, containing 7J acres, was passed in at £275 per acre, and Block 2, of 15 acreß, at £250 per acre. The form at Wainui of 304 acres, and the house in Bellevne Road, Lower Hutt, not reaching the reserve, were passed in. Mr. S. George Nathan and Co. submitted three properties to public auction yesterday afternoon, the Prr.t being Mr. Androw Wjlie's 9-roomed residence, at the corner of Mulgrave and Plpitea Strcota. Bidding started at £3500, and roae to £3800, at which price it was passed in, but it has since been sold privately. A 6-roomcd dwelling in Hawker Street, also a villa in Hohirlfv Road, Hntaitai, fore passed in as tho reßcrves wero not reached, and aro now open for private Bale.
