STATE MINES STILL IDLE
SETTLEMENT DELAYED. By Telcuraoh—Press Association. Grcymouth, August 11. The State coal mines are still idle, and while a settlement of the matter of the railway time-table is eventually expected, the probability is that there will be no further work this week. The only point still unsettled is that of adjusting the time-table. The men fully expected a settlement to-day, but the travelling time suggested by the Mines Department was considered unsatisfactory bv the miners at a meeting held tonight. The meeting consequently, adjourned pending the receipt of further information from the Minister of Railways.
