WELLINGTON" CENTRE. A meeting of the executive of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held last night, Mr. M. J. HodgiUß presiding. In regard to the Upper Hutt greeu, it was decided that a' sub-committee should inspect the green early in the season to ascertain. whether it would be fit to play Pennant matches there.

Members complained that in past seasons the green had been absolutely unplay able, and that it was no satisfaction for bowlers to go out to play on it. The chairman said it would now be for the Upper Hutt Club to put the green in proper order. The treasurer {Mr. W. H. Morrah) reported that the credit balance of the centre stood at £6 lis. lid. It ivas decided that no centre tournament bo played nexttseason iu view of tha fact that the Dominion tournament is to be held in Wellington. It was resolved to divide tho senior Pennant competition into two sections. Sixteen clubs will be represented, and -will provide the following number of rinks according to tho membership of tho clubs A Section.—Newtown, 6 rinks; Petone, 6; Kclburn, 6; Lyall Bay,' .6; liataitai, 6; Johnsonville, 2; Khandallah, 2; and Eastbourne, 2. B Section-Wellington, 10rinks; Victoria-. 8; Thorudon, 6; Hutt, C; Island Bay, 6; Karori, 2; Upper llutt, 2; and Seatoun, 2. Mr. E. J. Hill suggested that tho clubs should be urged to encourage the playing of junior pennants. Later on, it might be nossible to hold a junior tournament. Other speakers supported this view, contending that it would all tend to help tho interests of'the game. The secretary (Mr. S. 11. Underwood) suggested that tho matter should bo held oyer until tho second week in 'October, during which time the clubs could notify him whelhor they, intended to play juniors. Should a sufficient number bo offering ho could arrange a programme of junior games, ■ • The secretary s suggestion was adopted. December 31 was fixed as the date for the closing of entries for the champion of champions competition. It was decided that competitions should bo played on tho following dates:—Rinks, February 16; pairs, February 23;. singles, March '2. The competitions for Edwin Feathers and Junior Stars will commence on October 30 and continue to March 26, and matches for the Hill l'lus will start on November 3 and continue until Marcb 30.
