A POSSIBLE MISUNDERSTANDING.
Ihe stoppage of work at tho State coal mines was mentioned in tho House of Representatives by Mr. Holland (Bullor), who asked if Mr. Massey would arrange a meeting between tliv- Minister of Railways and the Minister of Mines to discuss the difficulty that had arisen, Tho question caused 6omo amusement, since Mr Massey happens to hold both the portfolios.
Mr. Massey said that the Minister of Mines and the Minister of Railways had already considered tho matter. The Ministers were quite in agreement. (Laughtor.) "I thought we had settled this difficulty last Friday afternoon, and I believe that there has been somo mistake or misapprehension," added Mr. Massey. "I had an interview with the General .Malinger for Railways and the 'permanent head of the Mines ltopartment. Tho head of tho Mines Department went wutli on Friday evening and I do not knoir what ha? taken placo since chfcn.
