UNITED STATES CORN
A HEAVY CROP EXPECTED. (Rec. August 11, 0.15 a.m.) New York, August 9. A three billion (3,000,000,000) bushel corn crop, for the third timo ill the history of the United .States, is estimated by the Department of Agriculture. August is a critical month for the great corn belt in the middle States, but there has been improvement in all the States except Illinois. The 6pring wheat waa severely aifocted in July by rust, and the production was reduced by twentynine million. bushels to a total of 262 millions. The preliminary estimate of the winter wheat is increased 'by fifteen mllions, making the total winter and spring crop 795 million bushels.—Aus.N.Z. Citblo Assn.
