PROGRESS LEAGUE
MEETING OP COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of tho General Committee of the Central Progress League was held last night The chairman (Mr. W. 11. Field, M.P.) presided. Mr. Will Lawson, organiser of tno Marlborough Progress Committee, was in attendance, as were also Messrs. 11. Atmore and R. P. Hudson, on behalf of tho Nelson and Motucka districts. The executive, in its report, stated that much good spade work had bee* dono during the month. Negotiations wero still being carried on in connection with local school sites, and it was hoped to report definite progress at next meeting. Touching hydro-electrical power, tho report detailed the progress being mndo in connection villi provision for preliminary wort at WnkareiEOima. At Mangahao tho progress maiitainscl was as much as could bo expected. Plant for part of the dovolopraont work was now mi tho spot, and was being installed. This would enable tunnel work to be proceeded with without delay. Mention was also mado of the fact that nothing had been done in the matter of preparing the site for tho now railway yard (l „! station, and the secretary hoped to bo in a position to make a full report at next meeting.
