•REMITS FOR ANNUAL CONFEKENCB. Following are some of the remits which are to come up for consideration at tho annual conference of the Now Zealand- Acclimatisation Association on August 18 and 19, in Wellington:— "That, for the purpose of making payments for the destruction of hawks, the two feet of the hawk bo retained instead of ( the beak, and that this practice lie made universal throughout the Dominion, in order to avoid any variation in the basis of payments.''

(<1) An adequate penalty for any breach of such regulations." "That, for reasons already urged, and as the fishing of nuinnat salmon for the last three seasons has proved a failure, the Government be requested to withdraw the regulations declaring tho AVaitnki and tho Bnngitala- salmon rivers, and be asked to legalise tho taking of quinnat salmon under the same license and conditions as are in force for the talcing of trout." "That the Government bo asked to legislate in tho direction of protecting gamo on sanctuaries, by making it an offenco for any person to be found on a sanctuary with dog or gun, except with the written permission of the local acclimatisation society concerned."
