HEAVY FALL IN STOCKS
ON AMERICAN MARKETS. Montreal, August 6. In New York there is a heavy liquidation of stocks, following on the receipt of unfavourable news from Poland. Industrial stocks tumbled from one to ten points. Foreign exchanges are steady, however, sterling gaining three-quarters of a cent.
In Montreal stocks experienced tho heaviest decline for several years past. Holders of paper mill stocks are the heaviest losers, for the drop in such stocks was from one to nineteen points. Sterling exchange has gained one cent.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Aran.
