PLAN TO ACCELERATE HOUSEBUILDING
BRITISH GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSALS.

London, August 7. Ministers and representatives of the master and operative builders discussed tho Government plan to accelerate housebuilding. The Government proprsos ft mobile army of workmen, available to proceed wherever required, Ihc dilution of labour, and piecework, the ■ Government guaranteeing five years' work, provision for bail weather, standard piecework rates, and a generous maintenance allowa.nco for the mobilised men. The next move is a conference between the masters and men. Meanwhile the men's representatives say they will not have piecework or dilution at nnv price.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
