FATAL ACCIDENT ON RAILWAY CROSSING
MAN RUN OVER BY ENGINE. By Telegraph—Press Association Dunedin, August G. A fatal accident occurred at the Rattray Street railway crossing at 8.15 o'clock to-night. John Roberts, aged 33, a ship's fireman, was run over by a railway locomotivo which was proceeding from the station •to the sheds. 'Ibe crossing-keeper's attention was occupied in warning four others on. the opposito side of the street, and he did_ not, apparently, eeo deceased approaching. The body was cut in two. Prom papers and effects found in the deceased man' 9 pockets, he was apparently engaged in the Home trade. He was born in Liverpool and his parents still live there.
